Klarreich found a very intriguing correspondence between the Grom ov boundary of the curve graph for closed surfaces (a very GGT object) wit h the space of ending laminations on the surface (a very geometric object) . Since then\, Hamendstadt\, Schleimer and Pho-On have thought about vario us different proofs for this result\, and generalizations to the arc graph / the arc-and-curve graph for finite-type surfaces. The grand arc graph i s a type of arc graph associated with certain infinite-type surfaces\, whi ch is also an infinite-diameter hyperbolic graph. In this talk\, we shall talk about ways to define laminations for infinite-type surfaces 'that sho uld correspond to points at infinity in the Grand arc graph'.\n\nWe will g ather for teatime in the lounge after the talk.\n DTSTART:20250402T200000Z DTEND:20250402T210000Z LOCATION:Room 920\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Arya Vadnere (University at Buffalo) URL:/mathstat/channels/event/arya-vadnere-university-b uffalo-364619 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
