 me almost interchangeable terms.\n\nAt the same time\, a growing array of 
 technologies have continued to increase the diagnostic\, access and treatm
 ent options available to modern health consumers. Technology and consumeri
 sm\, in other words\, have radically reshaped what it means to be a patien
 t in recent history.\n\nThis interdisciplinary workshop brings together a 
 team of international researchers to shed some light on the convergence of
  these transformative phenomena in a historical perspective.\n\nSpeakers:
