This lecture will cover advanced techni ques in the use of magnetoencephalography (MEG) for the presurgical invest igation of drug-resistant epilepsy. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of MEG and its critical role in epileps y surgery planning. The session will provide a detailed comparison of vari ous inverse source localization techniques\, including dipole mapping\, di stributed source modeling\, and ictal beamforming\, highlighting their cli nical applications in non-invasively modeling interictal spike foci and se izures. Attendees will learn when source modeling of interictal spikes may provide sufficient data to proceed directly to epilepsy surgery without a dditional invasive monitoring. Furthermore\, the lecture will offer insigh ts into the sub-centimeter localization accuracy of electromagnetic source imaging\, supported by validation from intracranial EEG studies. By the e nd of the lecture\, participants will have a robust understanding of how t hese cutting-edge techniques enhance the accuracy and efficacy of presurgi cal evaluations for epilepsy\, ultimately improving surgical outcomes.\n\n \nThese seminar series are made possible through the sponsorship of:\n\n\n \n \n DTSTART:20241017T200000Z DTEND:20241017T210000Z LOCATION:de Grandpre Communications Centre\, Montreal Neurological Institut e\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2B4\, 3801 rue University SUMMARY:Neuro Epilepsy Lecture Series - Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and It s Role in Drug Resistant Epilepsy URL:/neuro/fr/channels/event/neuro-epilepsy-lecture-se ries-magnetoencephalography-meg-and-its-role-drug-resistant-epilepsy-35796 7 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
