 ct: Genetic variation in sodium channels is implicated in a range of neuro
 developmental disorders\, including epilepsy\, autism spectrum disorder\, 
 developmental delay\, and intellectual disability. In this talk\, I will d
 escribe our efforts to understand how changes in one neuronal sodium chann
 el gene\, SCN2A\, affects the development and function of the brain and de
 scribe progress in implementing genetic therapies for SCN2A related disord
 ers to rescue brain function.\n\nKevin Bender\n\nEndowed Chair in Neurolog

 Kevin and his lab are interested in understanding how the brain encodes in
 formation at the synaptic\, cellular\, and network level and how these pro
 cesses are altered in neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. W
