On June 4, 2026, Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) Assistant Professor Amanda Cervantes and Faculty Lecturer Katherine Logue were among eight Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences faculty members named officially to the Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence at a celebratory symposium where they shared their insights and teaching strategies.

Logue, who joined the ISoN in 2017 as inaugural curriculum designer for the Online Nursing Education Office (ONE), played a key role in the creation of ɬ﷬’s Bachelor of Nursing Integrated (BNI) Online program – a first for Quebec that allows access to university nursing education for nurses from across our vast province. A proud graduate of the ISoN’s unique Direct-Entry Master’s nursing program, Logue was recently appointed Director of the ONE. “My teaching and my work in the Online Nursing Education Office has been shaped by extraordinary colleagues: faculty, instructional designers, and administrators. Together we do incredible things, driven by our shared vision and belief in the promise of higher education and in our responsibility to open ɬ﷬’s doors as widely as possible."

Professor Cervantes teaches across undergraduate and graduate programs. A graduate of the ISoN’s Direct Entry Master’s program, she has extensive experience in pediatric nursing. As an active member of the Operating Committee of the School’s Office of Social Accountability in Nursing, she is committed to advancing equity within nursing education. Her relational approach to teaching is shaped by her experiences within nursing as well as her prior career in theatre production. “Learning is not just about content – it’s about people, relationships, and making sense of things together. Every group of students brings something new that challenges and teaches me, and I often feel that I have learned more from them than they have from me.”
