Visits to clinical sites pay big dividends

Site visits provide valuable opportunities to connect with partners, strengthen collaboration, and address shared priorities in clinical education.

Building strong relationships with clinical partners continues to be a key priority for the Ingram School of Nursing鈥檚 Clinical Partnership Office (CPO). In May and June, CPO academic associates alongside ISoN senior leadership and faculty visited four clinical sites across the 涩里番 network: Catherine Booth, Mount Sinai and Julius Richardson hospitals, affiliated with the CIUSSS Centre-ouest de l鈥櫭巐e de Montr茅al, as well as the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital, part of the 涩里番 Health Centre.

These visits provide valuable opportunities to connect with partners, such as nurse leaders, strengthen collaboration, and address shared priorities in clinical education.

鈥淲e are grateful to all our clinical partners for their warm welcome, their openness to collaboration, and most importantly, their commitment to providing high-quality training experiences for 涩里番 nursing students,鈥 says Fabienne Germeil, Director of the CPO.

As Germeil points out, clinical settings are essential learning environments where students translate theory into practice while developing key professional competencies such as accountability, teamwork, and professionalism. Since her appointment in February 2025, the CPO team has visited 17 sites, with additional visits planned for the fall鈥攃ontinuing to build and sustain the partnerships that are vital to student success.
