Randhawa\n\nAssistan t Professor\, School of Computer Science\, University of Guelph \n\nDr. Gu rjit S. Randhawa is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Scien ce\, University of Guelph\, Canada. He earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Compu ter Science from the University of Western Ontario and completed a postdoc toral fellowship at the University of Waterloo. His research applies machi ne learning and artificial intelligence to uncover biological patterns in genomics and bioinformatics and to drive innovations in precision agricult ure. Building on this foundation\, Dr. Randhawa’s laboratory develops inte rpretable and scalable AI tools for genomic signal processing\, evolutiona ry classification\, and environmental metagenomics. He extends these compu tational frameworks to robotics and precision agriculture\, integrating AI -driven computer vision\, autonomous systems\, and multi-sensor imaging fo r precision scouting\, pest and disease management\, and data-informed dec ision support. His vision is to integrate genomic insights with phenotypic intelligence through machine learning to drive predictive\, data-informed \, and sustainable agricultural innovation. His research has been supporte d by major Canadian funding agencies including NSERC\, Mitacs\, the Ontari o Ministry of Agriculture\, Food and Agribusiness (OMAFA)\, and the Digita l Research Alliance of Canada. Through his interdisciplinary work\, Dr. Ra ndhawa envisions a future where machine learning unifies our understanding of biological complexity and drives sustainable transformation in agricul ture and beyond.\n DTSTART:20251127T210000Z DTEND:20251127T220000Z LOCATION:R2-046\, Raymond Building\, CA\, QC\, St Anne de Bellevue\, H9X 3V 9\, 21111 Lakeshore Road SUMMARY:4 O’ Clock Forum Seminar Series: Patterns of Life URL:/nutrition/channels/event/4-o-clock-forum-seminar- series-patterns-life-368924 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
