oneCard & oneCard Flex Accounts

What's the difference?

oneCard:

Available to all students and mandatory for residence students not assigned to the All You Care To Eat Meal Plan.

  • The oneCard account is active the entire time you are a ɬÀï·¬ student.
  • A minimum deposit of $50 is required when adding funds online.
  • Funds are rolled over from year to year.
  • Unused oneCard dollars are refundable once you leave the university and upon written request to housing.residences [at] mcgill.ca.

oneCard Flex:

Mandatory for residence students assigned the All You Care To Eat Meal Plan and all exchange students.

  • Amount is determined by the residence you are assigned, see table below.

  • The oneCard Flex expires at the end of the academic year in April 2026.

  • Unused funds are non refundable and non transferable.

  • Withdrawls from the university : Students who submit a written confirmation to housing.residences [at] mcgill.ca of their withdrawal from the university on or before November 1st, 2025, will have their balance refunded, minus $150 administration fee. No refund will be paid after November 1st, 2025.

Special considerations for students living in residence

When you move into residence you are assigned a mandatory oneCard or oneCard Flex account loaded with funds. The amount and type of oneCard dollars depends on which student category you fall in.

Payment and Billing

Funds are charged to your student fee account in September for the total amount. Exchange students will have the amounts charged in September and January.
