Bringing Cancer Vaccines Closer to Patients: D2R Launches New Strategic Funding Initiative

The DNA to RNA (D2R) Initiative is launching a newÌýStrategic Initiative on Cancer VaccinesÌýto accelerate the development of innovative cancer vaccine therapies and bring promising discoveries closer to patients.

This funding opportunity is designed to support multidisciplinary teams with projects that are sufficiently advanced for clinical translation and implementation, includingÌýfirst-in-human studies during the funding period. By investing in translational research with a clear clinical and regulatory pathway, D2R aims to help integrate cancer vaccines into routine cancer care and improve outcomes for patients affected by specific cancer types.

Successful teams will bring together the scientific expertise, clinical leadership, infrastructure, and partnerships needed to advance cancer vaccine programs from the laboratory to the clinic. Eligible applicants include ɬÀï·¬ faculty members serving as Principal Investigators, with co-investigators from ɬÀï·¬ and D2R partner institutions. Collaborators may also come from industry, healthcare organizations, government agencies, patient groups, non-profit organizations, and community partners.

The call for Letters of Intent is now open. The submission deadline is September 1, 2026.
