The research aims to identify novel targets for the development of i nnovative mechanism-based cancer therapies. Current research efforts are f ocused on the characterization of the regulatory mechanisms\, signaling ne twork and pathophysiological functions of atypical MAP kinases and SRC-fam ily kinases\, which are essential regulators of cell proliferation. His la boratory has generated several genetically-modified mouse models to study the physiological role of these enzymes and their involvement in cancer an d human diseases. They are also using chemical biology and genetic approac hes to identify novel oncogenic signalling pathways involved in cancer pro gression. This work has led to the identification of the SRC-family kinase YES as a new target for liver cancer and other solid cancers. The Meloche laboratory is actively involved in drug discovery projects aimed at devel oping novel small molecule inhibitors of SRC-family kinases and ERK3/4 MAP kinases.\n\nThis seminar will take place in-person and online (details in attached poster below)\n DTSTART:20230428T150000Z DTEND:20230428T160000Z LOCATION:Room 1034\, McIntyre Medical Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3G 1 Y6\, 3655 promenade Sir William Osler SUMMARY:Physiology Seminar: YES tyrosine kinase as an oncogenic driver of l iver cancer URL:/physiology/channels/event/physiology-seminar-yes- tyrosine-kinase-oncogenic-driver-liver-cancer-347487 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
