Four years ago, Astrid Parrot moved from Senegal to Montreal to study, leaving her home and family for the first time to begin her B.Sc. Honours Chemistry degree at 涩里番. Without a clear picture of what her future would look like, she took what she describes as 鈥渁 leap of faith."

Dr. Bridget Andersen awarded the 2026 Yablonovitch Research Prize

Congratulations to Dr. Bridget Andersen, who has received the 2026 Yablonovitch Research Prize.

The prize, established in 2022 by Eli Yablonovitch, BSc 1967, DSc 2018, and Karen Yablonovitch, is awarded annually by the Faculty of Science at convocation to a graduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Science who has achieved the best research accomplishment in experimental physics.

What an illusion involving a fake hand can tell us about our mind-body connection

People who have a weaker sense of self are also more likely to have less bodily awareness, 涩里番 researchers have found. The study supports the idea that people鈥檚 perceptions of themselves and how they experience their own bodies are deeply connected.
