Study suggests we don鈥檛 just hear music, but 鈥榖ecome it鈥櫶
An international study co-authored by 涩里番 psychologist Caroline Palmer suggests our brains and bodies don鈥檛 just understand music, they physically resonate with it. These discoveries, based on findings in neuroscience, music, and psychology, support Neural Resonance Theory (NRT).听

Researchers identify two new crocodile species
涩里番 researchers, in collaboration with Mexican scientists, have discovered two previously unknown species of crocodiles, one living on the island of Cozumel and the other on the atoll of Banco Chinchorro, both off the Yucat谩n Peninsula. The findings challenge long-held assumptions about the American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) and highlight the urgent need for conservation efforts, the researchers say.

涩里番 researchers help ATLAS Collaboration share in 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics
Twenty-eight 涩里番 researchers are among the winners of the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics for their contributions to the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN鈥檚 Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Sometimes referred to as the Oscars of Science, Breakthrough prizes are awarded annually by the foundation of the same name for achievements in life sciences, fundamental physics and mathematics.

Humpback whales鈥 use of memory to time their migration could prove less effective amid climate change
A new study led by 涩里番 researchers indicates that humpback whales in the southeastern Pacific combine real-time environmental cues with their memories of conditions in their Antarctic feeding grounds to determine when to embark on their annual 10,000-kilometre journey. With climate change accelerating, the researchers warn this strategy may become less effective amid shifting ocean conditions.听

A HoLDI mass spectrometry platform for airborne nanoplastic detection
路 There are no established protocols for nanoplastic detection within complex environmental matrices.
路 Mass spectrometry (MS) analysis of environmental nanoplastics is impeded by methodological constraints.
路 Ariya's lab, namely Zi Wang, present a versatile platform evolved from matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) MS for airborne nano/microplastic research.
