 hosted by TISED.\n	\n	\n\nOverview\n\nCalifornia faces a mounting crisis of 
 increasing water scarcity driven by recurring drought\, climate change\, p
 opulation growth and ecosystem demands. To address this crisis\, more sust
 ainable urban water use\, reuse and management solutions are needed. Susta
 inable water goals require a new vision that decreases reliance on importe
 d water. Distributed\, energy-neutral treatment systems for wastewater reu
 se are one approach. Beneficial use of urban stormwater is another strateg
 y. Implementing these approaches requires demonstration projects to accele
 rate innovation along with decision-making tools to assess system-level so
 lutions. This presentation will describe these approaches for dealing with
  drought in California and research within the NSF Engineering Research Ce
 nter for Re-inventing the Nation’s Urban Water Infrastructure (ReNUWIt) th
 at focuses on identifying and developing more sustainable solutions for ur
