Student-Led Initiatives

The MCTRC Student Committee was established in 2024 by a group of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from ɬÀï·¬-affiliated research institutes, united by a shared interest in translational research, science communication, and supporting trainee development. The committee aims to create meaningful opportunities for students and early-career researchers to explore how discoveries in the lab can lead to real-world clinical impact, while also promoting diverse career pathways in health innovation. Members of the MCTRC Student Committee contribute to various projects, including the MCTRC Translational Research Podcast series, the Translational Shadowing Workshop, and the organization of CTR Horizons.

MCTRC Shadowing Workshop

The MCTRC Shadowing Workshop gives students a rare chance to step into the world of cancer care, learning directly from clinicians and researchers. Through mentorship and hands-on experiences, participants connect classroom knowledge with real patient needs and future career paths.

Translating Cancer Research Podcast Series

Translating Cancer Research is a student-led podcast that explores how discoveries in the lab become real improvements in patient care. Through candid conversations with scientists, clinicians, industry experts, and patient advocates, the series highlights personal stories and practical insights on making research matter.
