The Department of Medicine in partnership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is offering a Leadership Development Workshop on Managing Unprofessional Behaviour 1 and 2 on September 29, 2026, at the ɬŔď·¬ Faculty Club.

Whether you are currently serving in a leadership position or aspiring to take on future leadership responsibilities within the Department, this workshop offers you an important opportunity to develop practical strategies needed to address unprofessional behaviour, foster accountability, and cultivate respectful, high-performing workplace environments. Both courses are accredited and participants will receive MOCOMP credits after the workshop.

Eileen completed her medical degree at the University of Ottawa, She gained her certification in family medicine, and earned a fellowship in sports medicine and a masters in exercise physiology at ɬŔď·¬.

She practiced emergency and sports medicine at ɬŔď·¬ where she was an assistant professor and has served in many capacities in medical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Nationally, she has served with organizations such as the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP), the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) as well as the Medical Council of Canada.

Heather Murray, MD, MSc, FRCP

Dr. Heather Murray is a Physician Advisor with the CMPA’s Safe Medical Care Learning group. Prior to joining the CMPA, she served as an attending emergency physician for 26 years and continues to hold the rank of Professor of Emergency Medicine at Queen’s University.

Dr. Murray received her MD from Western University, her FRCP in Emergency Medicine from Queen’s, and her MSc in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Ottawa. She also holds a certificate from the Harvard Macy Program for Educators in the Health Professions.

A passionate and innovative educator, Dr. Murray has received numerous awards, including the Chancellor A. Charles Baillie Award, the highest teaching honour at Queen’s University. Deeply engaged in medical education, she has held multiple leadership roles in the Queen’s MD Program.

She has also served in senior editorial roles with the Canadian Journal of Emergency Medicine and is currently an Associate Editor with the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

Véronique Roy

Véronique Roy is a partner in the litigation group in Montréal. Her practice focuses on civil, administrative and disciplinary litigation, mostly on professional and medical liability.

Véronique joined the firm as a partner in 2024. Previously, she practiced litigation within a national firm and a major regional firm.

As a litigator, Véronique is recognized for her ability to manage complex cases. She has extensive experience in public and constitutional law litigation.

Her clients appreciate her diligence and good judgment.

Véronique is the author of several articles and has participated in several conferences. She is passionate about research and is a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Foundation for Legal Research.

After completing her law studies (B.C.L., LL.B.) with Great Distinction at ɬŔď·¬ in 2006, VĂ©ronique clerked for the Honorable Louis LeBel at the Supreme Court of Canada (2007- 2008). She also holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from UQAM (2000) and a master’s degree in political science from ɬŔď·¬ (2003).

Véronique was called to the Quebec Bar in 2008. She is a member of the Advocates’ Society and has been named in the Benchmark Litigation rankings since 2019.
