Advice for Trainees Preparing Conference Abstracts & Posters

  • Plan early: Start preparing abstracts at least 2–3 months in advance.
  • Confirm requirements: Always review conference-specific abstract guidelines.
  • Align with your supervisor: Confirm target meetings and authorship early.
  • Design for clarity: Posters should be visually clear and easy to read.
  • Practice your pitch: Prepare short and extended explanations of your work.
  • Track deadlines: Record submission and acceptance dates for your CV.
