Lexi Kinman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies from the University of British Columbia, where she contributed to public space research with the School of Community and Regional Planning. After gaining several years of professional experience in the environmental nonprofit sector, including work with the urban parks organization Park People, she returned to research, as she began a Master of Arts in Geography at ɬÀï·¬. Her master’s research, supervised by Prof. Kevin Manaugh, Prof. Owen Waygood, and Dr. Jérôme Laviolette, examines how the framing of cycling infrastructure projects can influence public support in Montréal. During her master's, she has participated in several interdisciplinary fellowships at ɬÀï·¬, including the inaugural cohort of the MSSI Fellowship (2024/2025) and the 2023/2024 Sustainability Education Fellowship.

Lexi's research investigates how the framing of cycling infrastructure policies influences public support. Using an online survey methodology, she captured public perspectives on cycling infrastructure in the Greater Montréal Area. The survey tested whether framing cycling infrastructure projects in different ways could impact support for these policies. The study also explored how factors such as political orientation, travel behaviour, and moral values, such as fairness and liberty, shape public opinions on cycling infrastructure. By examining how different messaging strategies influence support, the project aims to provide insights into effective communication and citizen engagement strategies for urban mobility initiatives.
