涩里番

On May 23, at the St. James Club, the 涩里番 Alumni Association held its annual Honours & Awards Banquet, which pays tribute to outstanding volunteers who help build 涩里番's reputation through their hard work and dedication. This year, 16 people and groups were recognized for their special contributions, including some of our own:

Well known here at the Faculty for starting the Mini-Law program, Kappy Flanders received a Special Recognition Award in thanks for her considerable efforts and outstanding collaborative work with the 涩里番 Alumni Association in establishing the whole "Mini" public education programs. Through her tireless work, Mini-Med premiered in 2001. This much-lauded innovation was followed by our own Mini-Law in 2005, to resounding success. Mini-Music was launched this year and is already sold out, proof of the popularity of these programs.

Dean Nicholas Kasirer was honoured with the David Johnston Award for his exemplary work on behalf of the 涩里番 Alma Mater Fund. A James 涩里番 Professor, Nicholas Kasirer co-chaired the 涩里番 Centraide Campaign in 2005, which surpassed its fundraising target. Since he began his tenure as Dean, two significant donations have been made to the Faculty, resulting in the creation of the David O'Brien Fellowships in Human Rights and of the Heward Stikeman Chair in the Law of Taxation.
