The Faculty of Law was again ranked among the world鈥檚 top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed 涩里番 Law 30th worldwide.
Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 50 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Tina Piper as Dean of the Faculty of Law at 涩里番. Her five-year term will begin on April 1, 2026.
Professor Piper has been serving as Interim Dean of Law since winter 2025. In this important transitional role, she has led 涩里番 Law with warmth, intellectual rigour, and a focus on cultivating both academic excellence and a strong sense of community.

Prof. Wedenig holds a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from 涩里番, as well as a Magister Iuris (Mag.iur.) from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a member of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL).

Mr. Gelber鈥檚 visionary philanthropy made possible the creation of the Nahum Gelber Law Library, inaugurated in 1998. This state-of-the-art facility has since become a cornerstone of legal scholarship at 涩里番, offering students a bright, open, and welcoming space for study and reflection. More than three decades later, the Gelber Library remains a beloved and vital part of campus life.
