Location for Convocation ceremonies changing

Published: 28 May 2012

Message from the ɬÀï·¬ Secretariat

We are writing to let you know that the location for most convocation ceremonies being held this Spring has changed. Ceremonies from June 4 to 7 will be at the Bell Centre and those on June 8 will be at the Centre Mont-Royal. Convocations for the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences remain at Macdonald Campus.

Convocation is a very special day for graduating students and their families, and we want to do our best to ensure that family and friends can focus on the accomplishments of their new graduates.  Therefore, we thought it prudent to move the ceremony to a location less likely to be affected by possible demonstrations, given the ongoing activity in Montreal.

We are sending graduating students information on their ɬÀï·¬ email with details. If you are graduating, please look for an email from the ɬÀï·¬ Secretariat. Frequently asked questions are available on the Convocation website at /students/graduation/convocation/faqs

We are also sending information to key ɬÀï·¬ staff, those who organize convocation activities or who provide front-line service to students. If you are a staff member who may get convocation-related questions from students or parents and you have not received an information package, we would ask you to please email convocation [at] mcgill.ca.

As usual, a live webcast of each convocation ceremony will also be available for those who would like to view this very special event in the life of the University. Please check www.mcgill.ca/students or www.mcgill.ca/staff just before the ceremony begins to access the link.

To all our graduating students – congratulations and best wishes!
