The fundraising activity, which brought in $400,000 from BLG鈥檚 lawyers and partners across Canada, ended this month.

The Faculties of Arts and Law are happy to announce that Professor Ronald Niezen, a former Chair of 涩里番鈥檚 Department of Anthropology who held the Canada Research Chair in the Comparative Study of Indigenous Rights and Identity, has been appointed as the first incumbent of the Katharine A. Pearson Chair in Civil Society and Public Policy.

More than a dozen members of the 涩里番 Faculty of Law community have received Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals this year.
The award, which was created in 2012 to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty鈥檚 accession to the Throne, recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canadian society. In total, 60,000 Canadian medals were awarded in ceremonies occurring throughout the year.
