AI is disrupting how we teach, learn, and assess student learning at 涩里番. The Managing Disruption Initiative also hosts a series of Teaching with AI workshops to help instructors navigate this rapidly evolving landscape. Organized in collaboration with Teaching and Learning Services at Desautels, these interactive sessions bring faculty together to explore emerging AI tools, exchange pedagogical best practices, and share practical experiences integrating AI into teaching and assessment. Through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and peer learning, the workshops equip instructors with effective and responsible strategies for harnessing AI to enhance student learning.
Winter 2026: AI Show and Tell (April 28, 2026)
This interactive session, jointly organized by the Managing Disruption Initiative and TLS, and led by Prof. Najib Mozahem brought together instructors to share practical experiences with AI in teaching. Topics included redesigning assessments to mitigate inappropriate AI use, integrating AI alongside learning technologies in online courses, experimenting with emerging AI tools, and developing course AI policies. The workshop enabled participants to learn from colleagues and explore effective strategies for teaching in an AI-enabled classroom.
Fall 2025: Teaching with AI 鈥� Insights, Tools and Hands-on Practice (December 9. 2025) 鈥傗��
The session led by Prof. Najib Mozahem began with insights from a faculty survey on AI adoption, highlighting innovative鈥俻ractices already emerging across the Faculty. Participants then explored how AI can be aligned with course learning objectives through pedagogically grounded design principles, followed by demonstrations of useful AI tools and interactive activities that allowed instructors to experiment with these technologies in the context of their own courses. The workshop equipped participants with practical ideas and resources for adopting AI thoughtfully and effectively in their teaching.
