The Hult Prize is an annual, globally recognized, social entrepreneurship competition that challenges young people to solve pressing issues through innovative business ideas. Each year, more than 200K students from over 130 countries and 2,000 universities, compete to pitch their solutions, with the grand prize of $1 million awarded to the winning team to help bring their idea to life. The Hult Prize provides a unique platform for students to gain mentorship, develop critical skills in pitching and problem-solving, and access a network of global changemakers and investors.

Instructions to Register & Apply

  1. Step 1: Complete the Ìý´Ç²Ô the Hult website by February 2, 2026.
  2. Step 2: Submit your Full Application for the ɬÀï·¬ Local Competition, including a 4-minute recorded pitch and a pitch deckÌý²ú²â February 2, 2026.

Competition Format

  • Teams selected to participate in the ɬÀï·¬ Local Competition will be notified by February 6, 2026.
  • The ɬÀï·¬ Local Competition will take place in person at the Dobson Centre on February 20, 2026.
  • Winning teams from the ɬÀï·¬ Local Competition will advance to the Canadian National Competition, to be held in person in MontrealÌý´Ç²Ô April 10–11, 2026.

Who is this competition for?

We welcome teams of 2-4 students who are:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Enrolled in any degree-granting program (including undergraduate and graduate programs) at the time of registration.
  • At least one student must be enrolled at ɬÀï·¬
  • Pitching a for-profit business that directly supports at least one UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
