Program Closure Notice: Master of Science in Otolaryngology

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery announces that the Master of Science in Otolaryngology program will close effective May 5, 2026.

As of Fall 2026, the program will be replaced by the Surgical and Interventional Sciences (Thesis): Otolaryngology Concentration (45 credits).

Students who were admitted to or enrolled in the Master of Science in Otolaryngology program prior to Fall 2026 may either:

  • complete the current program under its existing requirements; or
  • request to transfer to the new Surgical and Interventional Sciences (Thesis): Otolaryngology Concentration, in accordance with applicable academic procedures.

The new program will provide students with access to a broader academic and research environment, expanded opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, and a potential pathway to PhD-level training, while maintaining the close mentorship and interdisciplinary clinical and basic science engagement that have been central to the existing program.
