About our Keynote Speaker

Dr. Aengus Bridgman

Dr. Aengus Bridgman is Director of the Media Ecosystem Observatory, Director of the Canadian Digital Media Research Network, and Assistant Professor (Research) at 涩里番's Max Bell School of Public Policy. His research focuses on understanding and strengthening the health of information environments, examining how misinformation spreads, how it affects public understanding and trust, and what research-informed interventions can build resilience against it.聽

During the COVID-19 pandemic, his team documented how exposure to different media environments shaped health beliefs and behaviours. His ongoing work monitors Canada鈥檚 information ecosystem during elections and crises, providing real-time analysis that informs policy discussions, public understanding, and scientific communication strategies. He has testified as an expert witness before the House of Commons, Senate committees, and the Public Inquiry on Foreign Interference.
