ASABE 2025 Annual International Meeting - Lab Highlights

Our lab was well represented at the ASABE 2025 Annual International Meeting in Toronto, July 14-16. It was an excellent opportunity to share our work with the broader agricultural and biological engineering community, receive valuable feedback, and engage in meaningful professional exchanges.

Professor Madramootoo visited the UK Center for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH) in Wallingford, UK

Professor Madramootoo visited the UK Center for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH) in Wallingford, UK on March 07, to meet with research collaborators on the jointly funded project: A Collaboratively Designed and Managed Flood Resilience Framework for Affected Communities in the Caribbean Region. He also gave a seminar to the scientists titled: “Managing Water in Difficult Climatic Environments”. There was also a wide ranging discussion on expanding research collaboration between ɬ﷬ and UKCEH in water and the environment in Guyana with the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and the Government of Guyana.

Congratulations to Dr. Chandra Madramootoo on receiving the Kishida International Award by ASABE

The Kishida International Award honours outstanding contributions to engineering-mechanization-technological programs of education, research, development, consultation or technology transfer that has resulted in significant improvements outside the United States. Dr. Madramootoo, a distinguished James Mcgill professor and ASABE Fellow, is the recipient of this award for his significant contributions to soil and water engineering, and water and food security in the Caribbean, Central and South Asia, Middle-East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
