Social Accountability Statement

The ɬÀï·¬ Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) contributes to the health of communities within Montréal, across Québec, throughout RUISSS (Réseau Universitaire Intégré de Santé et de Services Sociaux) ɬÀï·¬, nationally, and globally. We strive to meet our social accountability goal of building healthier societies through education, discovery, collaboration and clinical care, addressing priorities of the populations we serve.

The FMHS commitment to social accountability is reflected in our strategic plan, Together for Better Health and the Mission and Vision for Education and Community Engagement.

Our educational and research programs in the health professions, population and global health, and biomedical sciences are designed to address the needs of society, with a goal of contributing to health in Québec and beyond.

We engage and work with the communities that we serve. We embrace diversity within the FMHS. We foster belonging, so that all members of our FMHS community feel welcome, respected, and valued as we strive for excellence in teaching, learning, discovery, and service together. We pay particular attention to increasing the participation of people who have been historically marginalized or excluded from Faculty life and programs, and work with the University in advancing equity.
