Public Talk with Brandon Mitchell, Mi'kmaq Graphic Artist and Published Author, 聽November 23rd, 5:30-7:00 pm, Arts W-120, 853 Sherbrooke O. 聽
The Indigenous Studies Program has invited Brandon Mitchell as a guest for lunch and a public talk. Brandon Mitchell is from Listuguj, Quebec and he is the founder of Birch Bark Comics and is also the creator of the Sacred Circles comic series, which draws on his Mi鈥檏maq heritage. He has written five books with the Healthy Aboriginal Network, (Lost Innocence,听Drawing Hope,听River Run,听Making it Right, and聽Emily鈥檚 Choice). Brandon has written and illustrated聽Jean-Paul鈥檚 Daring Adventure: Stories from Old Mobile聽for the University of Alabama, as well as two Mi'qmaq language-based stories for the Listuguj聽Education Directorate. He has also completed an art installation for Heritage and Culture New Brunswick. Brandon currently resides in Fredericton, New Brunswick.聽
