Original announcement (published Friday, April 10, 2026): ɬ﷬ websites are loading very slowly for users off campus due to a technical issue. ɬ﷬ users are advised to use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) until this is resolved.

Wi-Fi network: Action required to renew certificates for Windows, iOS and MacOS devices

On the morning of Thursday, April 2nd, IT Services will renew the security certificate that secures authentication to ɬ﷬'s wpa.mcgill.ca, eduroam, cusm-muhc.mcgill.ca, and wpa.bus.mcgill.ca Wi-Fi networks.

This certificate allows you to sign on to the Wi-Fi network securely.

Some Android and Windows devices, as well as all iOS/MacOS devices will display a message prompting users to accept the new certificate.

RESOLVED: Temporary Issue with Lenel Building Access

We are currently investigating a system-wide issue affecting Lenel building access for some students and postdoctoral fellows. Impacted individuals may find their building access is unexpectedly not working. This appears to be an access issue (not a card replacement issue).

Please do not replace your card unless you are specifically advised to do so. We are working to restore access as quickly as possible and will post updates as they become available.
