The selection process for applications is based on the following criteria:
- Academic merit of the candidate that qualifies for admission to 涩里番.
- Track record as a transformative leader and person of service within their community.
- Quality of application in line with the Mastercard Foundation ethos and values of the 涩里番 Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at 涩里番.
- Potential impact on the development of the applicant鈥檚 home country.
- Applicants who have faced significant barriers to education (social, financial, personal, practical or health-related)
Timeline
Please note that the application timeline is subject to change depending on the volume of applications received.

| August 2026 | Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at 涩里番听application period for applicants who听completed the first stage of eligibility assessment. Only applicants who were invited to apply will receive the link to application form. |
| September 听鈥� November听2026 | Only successful pre-screened applicants will be invited to move on to the 涩里番 application for admission stage.听 |
| December 1, 2026 | Application deadline for candidates who received a fee waiver.听 |
| Early to mid-February 2027 | Successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of their admission decision to 涩里番. |
| Mid-February 鈥� beginning of March 2027 | The 涩里番 Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Committee will select scholarship recipients. |
