JW McConnell Professor of Practice in Public Policy

The Max Bell School for Policy at 涩里番 invites applications for the J.W. McConnell Professor of Practice in Public Policy for the 2026/27 academic year. The position is open to experienced practitioners in all sectors, regions and areas of public policy. The ideal candidate will be a recognized policy practitioner with a history of accomplishment and with capacity to engage in the activities of the School, particularly the School鈥檚 Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. The ideal candidate will be based in Montreal or Ottawa.

This is a visiting position with a starting date of September 1, 2026, or later by agreement. The appointment typically ends in July, although this is negotiable. The position carries a generous stipend, commensurate with qualifications, the level of engagement with the School, and the duration of the appointment.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate fully in the academic life of the School and be present in the School for a specific periods of the school calendar. They may also contribute to the MPP program by mentoring students, delivering workshops or webinars, or participating in public events.

Applicants must upload a curriculum vitae and a letter of intent indicating their preferences for scheduling and summarizing their proposed activities and objectives while at the School. The names and contact information of at least two referees must also be provided.
