2026 CURAC Conference
CURAC is very pleased to announce听that Simon听Fraser University Retiree Association (SFURA) will host the 2026 CURAC annual conference from May 20-22, 2026.
The 2026 Conference will have the theme of听Making Connections听and will take place at the Inn at the Quay on the Fraser River in New Westminster, BC. Please join your CURAC colleagues and fellow university retirees for a program that will inspire us, teach us new things, and help us make connections to each other.

The MURA Music Circle
Do you play a musical instrument but have only ever played alone and have not experienced the joy of sharing music with others? Discover the joy of connecting with others through shared melodies.
Richard London would like to propose the creation of the MURA Music Circle. This music circle is more about therapy than about proficiency or performance. There will be no audience. There will be no critics. All of you will be helping each other to overcome the fear, the stage fright, the performance anxiety of playing in front of others. Once you pass through that looking glass and overcome that fear, you will arrive at a better place when the idea of playing music with others will be met with joy and excitement and not with fear and anxiety.

October 30, 2025 鈥� The inaugural restaurant outing of the new MURA Luncheon group took place at Petros Taverna on Laurier West, where members enjoyed expertly crafted fresh Greek cuisine and lively conversation. You are invited to join in a discussion about听涩里番 in History, a new book that explores the university's colonial legacy, edited by Brian Lewis, Don Nerbas, and Melissa N. Shaw.
涩里番 in History听brings together diverse historiographies and perspectives to critically examine how 涩里番 has been implicated in power structures and is the product of conflicting ideologies. The book broadens the historical frame of critical university studies, showing how the university can serve as a model for understanding power in modern society.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A and reception, with copies of the book available for purchase. Refreshments will be provided.

Constituted in 1965 and named after former Dean Marvin Duchow in 1980, the library provides resources and services to support the performance, research, and teaching programs of the Schulich School of Music. It also serves the broader 涩里番 community and academic libraries across Quebec and beyond. The event will offer a historical overview, self-guided tour, and a closing reception will conclude the evening. RSVP required.
