Biographie

Melanie Matchett Wood is a聽Radcliffe聽Alumnae Professor at Harvard聽Radcliffe聽Institute聽and聽William Caspar Graustein Professor of Mathematics in the聽Harvard聽Faculty of Arts聽and聽Sciences. Her research is focused on number theory, arithmetic聽and聽algebraic geometry,聽topology, probability,聽and聽random groups. She is an editor of聽Algebra聽&聽Number Theory,聽International Mathematics Research Notices,聽and聽Research in Number Theory聽and聽was an American Institute of Mathematics Five Year Fellow.

Before joining聽Harvard, Wood was a Chancellor鈥檚 Professor at the University of California, Berkeley. She earned a PhD from Princeton University, a certificate of advanced study聽at the University of Cambridge,聽and聽a BS from Duke University, all in mathematics.
