A global movement.

The GLOBAL WALK AGAINST PAIN is an international initiative bringing together pain research centers worldwide to make chronic pain more visible.

At multiple locations around the world, local walking events take place simultaneously. Participants walk lap after lap along a defined route, and each location records the total distance covered. These results are combined into a global total distance and displayed on

Together, we aim to walk thousands of kilometers - whether you walk 1 km or 40 km, every step moves us forward. Join us on August 29, 2026 from 10am -12pm. To take part in the walk, registration is mandatory. Registering also entails you signing a liability waiver for the event.

Brain Research Platforms Advance in Montreal( June 2026)

A group of seven professionals stands in a hallway or office corridor, positioned in front of a poster on an easel displaying the text 鈥淚RCM.鈥� The individuals are arranged in a line, wearing business or business-casual attire in neutral and blue tones. The projects, one based at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montr茅al (IRCM), affiliated with Universit茅 de Montr茅al, and the others based at 涩里番 and The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital), will give researchers across Canada access to powerful shared tools, from RNA drug testing and advanced molecular analysis to living human nervous tissue and integrated patient data.

Coloring Books for Kids

In the holiday spirit, and in collaboration with the Neuron Family project, a donation of the 鈥淗ow we feel / Explorons nos sens鈥� colouring books was made to the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital in late December. Additional donations are being planned for St Justine鈥檚 and for the Shriner鈥檚 in the near future.

Pain Centre YouTube Video program

听

We are constantly striving to raise our public profile, and one spoke of this effort is our YouTube channel. This is an open call to all trainees in the Centre. Science communication is an important skill, one that will only become increasingly important in the years to come. We would like to 鈥渉ost鈥� short (5-6 minute) videos describing your research findings. Not only does this add to your 鈥淐V-able鈥� skills, but also we will pay you $100 for the video.

Sound interesting? It is not as hard as you think. While there are a number of software solutions to select from, we recommend that you do this using PowerPoint, a program that you are undoubtedly familiar with. Create a PPTX file with an integrated audio file (of you narrating the slides). Once this finished, you save the presentation as a video (select File

Export > Create a Video > Select Video Quality > Use Recorded Timings and Narrations> Create Video), giving you an MP4 file that we can upload to YouTube.
