Welcome

AFC Programs

We are proud to offer 3 AFC programs in a world-class learning environment that prepares our trainees to become well-rounded health professionals.

The Royal College Council approved the Areas of Focused Competence (Diploma) Program on February 25, 2011. The AFC (diploma) programs have been formally approved by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The Postgraduate Medical Education Office (PGME) ensures that all applicants meet the admissions eligibility criteria for the program’s review. The applicant selection is exceptionally competitive and may vary by academic discipline.

We encourage you to view our selection of AFC programs to ensure that you meet all of the admissions requirements.

In Québec, physicians are legally required to provide care in both French and English. To support this obligation, ɬÀ﷬’s Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) provides residents with access to French language acquisition tools and resources. These are designed to help residents communicate effectively with Francophone patients and fully benefit from their clinical and academic training. All residents are expected to participate in the French language courses offered by the PGME Office, throughout the duration of their training at ɬÀï·¬, including during the Pre-Entry Assessment Period (PEAP), where applicable.
