Ben Calman
Biography: 

Ben Calman is an educator and researcher in equal measure. He has spent over ten years in a variety of educational roles in classrooms and other educational spaces in the United States, Vietnam, Canada, and online. Ben completed his SSHRC-funded master鈥檚 degree under the supervision of Dr. Galante and Dr. Sarkar in 2022. He is delighted to be working with Dr. Galante again as his doctoral supervisor and honoured to receive the SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship for his proposed research into linguistic discrimination and empowerment. This award will allow Ben to focus more time and energy on his doctoral work while maintaining his teaching practice and spending time with his growing family.
