AIEQ-QSP Scholarships for the Minor in Quebec Studies and Community-Engaged Learning

The AIEQ-QSP Scholarships for the Minor in Quebec Studies and Community-Engaged Learning aim to encourage undergraduate students at ɬÀï·¬ to select Quebec as their area of study.

These scholarships are awarded annually and jointly by the Association internationale des études québécoises (AIEQ) and the Quebec Studies Program (QSP) to a ɬÀï·¬ student who chooses to include the Minor in Quebec Studies and Community-Engaged Learning in their academic pathway.

Scholarship Details

Four (4) scholarships of $1,750 CAD each are offered by AIEQ.

They are primarily awarded:

- To an out-of-Quebec student at the start of their university studies (U0) or after completing their first year of university (U1) at ɬÀï·¬, who decides to incorporate the Minor in Quebec Studies into their academic program, regardless of their faculty or department.

- To an out-of-Quebec student who has participated in the ExCELR Community Engagement program within a Quebec Studies course.

General Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must:

- Be a full-time undergraduate student (U0 or U1) at ɬÀï·¬ and have completed their previous diploma outside Quebec.

- Be a member of AIEQ or agree to become one.

- Submit a motivation letter outlining their interest in the scholarship and the Minor in Quebec Studies and Community-Engaged Learning.

- Include a recent CV.

- Provide an official transcript.

- Submit a recommendation letter from a ɬÀï·¬ faculty member.

Students already enrolled in the Minor in Quebec Studies or who have completed 60 or more credits are not eligible to apply (except in special cases).

Disbursement

- The first payment of $875 CAD is made by AIEQ during the fall term upon selection of the recipient.

- The second payment of $875 CAD is made during the fall term of the following year.

Obligations of Recipients

Students who receive this scholarship must:

- Complete the 18-credit Minor in Quebec Studies within the Quebec Studies Program.

- Submit a brief two-page report (in English or French).

- Participate in the creation of a short testimonial video.

- Commit to completing the Minor (except in cases of force majeure).

Application Process

Applications can be submitted in French or English.

Deadline: April 11th, 2025 (5:00 PM)

Results will be announced seven days after the deadline.

Payment Dates (subject to change):

- First payment: April 30 of the first year.

- Second payment: April 30 of the second year.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be evaluated based on:

- Academic performance.

- The motivation letter.

- The candidate’s CV, with particular attention to their interest in community engagement.

- The recommendation letter from a ɬÀï·¬ faculty member.
