Nina is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in psychology and minoring in behavioural science. Her previous experience as a special needs assistant for neurodivergent children, combined with her lifelong passion for music, propelled her research interests further into this area. As a research assistant at BAND, Nina hopes to gain knowledge about the relationship between music and the social-emotional and cognitive development of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, Nina intends to pursue graduate studies in psychology in hopes of becoming a child psychologist.

Hannah is currently in her last year of undergraduate studies at ɬÀï·¬, where she is majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Behavioral Science and Sociology. Hannah has been volunteering at the Behaviour, Autism, and NeuroDevelopment (BAND) Research Group, led by Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin. As a research assistant, she works with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at Summit School. Additionally, Hannah works as an animator at WIAIH, a non-profit organization in the West Island of Montreal that provides programs and services to individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism and their families. Her experiences working with neurodivergent individuals has been very impactful in her life and career goals. She hopes to pursue her graduate studies in the School/Applied Child Psychology program at ɬÀï·¬.

Haya completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a double minor in Behavioral Science and Sociology, from ɬÀï·¬. She currently works as a Behavioral Technician, supporting children on the autism spectrum, where she has observed firsthand how music can be used as a reinforcement tool. Driven by her experience and a desire to deepen her involvement in research, Haya joined the Behavior, Autism, and Neurodevelopment Lab as a research assistant. She is particularly interested in exploring the role of music in promoting socio-communication skills among youth with ASD. Haya aspires to pursue graduate studies in Child Psychology

Nicole is a recent graduate of ɬÀï·¬, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology with a minor in International Development Studies. Nicole completed her undergraduate Honours Thesis under the supervision of Dr. Jonathan Britt (Department of Psychology), where she investigated the role of dopamine in Binge Eating Disorder and explored pharmacotherapeutic outcomes for pathological consummatory behaviour. Nicole has also worked as a summer Research Assistant at the University of Ottawa, where she examined emotion discrimination, social cognition and interpersonal interactions in young adults. Her experiences working with neurodiverse individuals, including her involvement in the ɬÀï·¬ chapter of Best Buddies, have deepened her passion for exploring cognitive functioning and supporting mental well-being in neurodivergent populations. Nicole’s research interests focus on the transfer effects of music interventions on beat perception and motor coordination skills in neurodivergent children, as well as the brain mechanisms associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Nicole plans to pursue graduate studies in counselling psychology or neuropsychology.
