Please note that Degree advisors CANNOT help with:

  • Program requirements: If you have questions about courses or requirements for your programs, these need to be directed to your Program advisor.
  • Courses that are full or restricted: Registration for a course is controlled by the Department that offers the course. SOUSA advisors cannot help you register for a course that is full or restricted, you must contact the Program advisor for that department.
  • ɬÀï·¬, legal documents and tuition: These questions/issues are handled by Service Point.

Book an appointment with your Degree advisor

NEW STUDENTS: You will be assigned a Degree advisor after you have registered for courses in June. If you have advising questions before then, you can drop-in to our Virtual Q&A sessions, attend our pre-registration info sessions, or email newstudentadvising.science [at] mcgill.ca (newstudentadvising[dot]science[at]mcgill[dot]ca).

RETURNING STUDENTS: Individual advising sessions are available on a first-come first-served basis. Please email advisor.science [at] mcgill.ca (advisor[dot]science[at]mcgill[dot]ca) if you need a link to your advisor's booking pages, where you can book your own in-person or online session. 

Be sure to:

  • Use your ɬÀï·¬ email account.
  • Include your ID number.
  • Include the name of your assigned advisor (this can be found on your Minerva transcript).

You can also email your Degree advisor directly and they will respond as quickly as possible. 

Note that during the Graduation review period (end of May) and the Add/Drop period (start of each term), we receive a high volume of emails and appointment requests. Please expect longer wait times and avoid sending multiple emails. We appreciate your patience and will do our utmost to respond to inquiries as quickly as possible.
