Evgeniya Makarova

Evgeniya MakarovaDr. Evgeniya Makarova (aka Dr. EM) is a course lecturer in art history and an independent researcher examining how twentieth-century totalitarian regimes are reflected in contemporary visual culture. She holds an MA in Art History from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Art History from ɬÀï·¬. Her doctoral work explored the complex relationship between German artists and the National Socialist state, focusing on the development of architectural and technical subjects in painting between 1933 and 1945. Her research has been supported by Fonds de recherche du Québec–Société et Culture, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the Deutsche Zentrum Kulturgutverluste.
