The 2025 edition of Black History Month at ɬÀï·¬ focuses on spaces and design and their significance to Black communities, while also offering a diverse selection of events, as always. It begun with the opening ceremony on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 5:00-8:00pm.
The keynote address was delivered by architect Shane Laptiste, a ɬÀï·¬ graduate who is the principal and co-founder of the award-winning, Toronto-based Studio of Contemporary Architecture (SOCA). Please click on the link below to watch the video.
Black History Month aims to celebrate, honour, increase knowledge, and amplify the voices of Black communities by recognizing their rich history and achievements, fostering connection, and bringing together ɬÀï·¬ students, staff, and faculty, and alumni and members within and beyond the Montreal community.Ìý
In addition to events hosted directly by the ɬÀï·¬ Equity Team, there are numerous events hosted by the Black Community during the month and beyond. Please click the link below for a full list of these events.
