The CINE Student Symposium is a new annual initiative led by the student committee at CINE. This event aims to strengthen the visibility and impact of student-led research and foster deeper engagement with collaborative projects conducted alongside Indigenous communities.
We invite graduate and undergraduate students to present their research projects. Whether your work explores Indigenous food systems, public health, environmental sustainability, Indigenous methodologies, or food sovereignty, we welcome your voice.
The event will be held听on November 20, 2025, from 2:00- 4:00 PM听in a hybrid format, with in-person participation at the faculty Lounge (MS2-022), Macdonald Campus.
The symposium will be followed by a networking session for attendees to engage with presenters, faculty, and Indigenous Advisory Board members. Food will be provided to support a welcoming and engaging environment.
This is a unique opportunity to:

- Share ideas and experiences
- Explore pathways for collaboration and future research
The session will include a facilitated discussion on how 涩里番, FAES, CINE, and students can contribute to reconciliation through research and education.

This event is funded by the Sustainability Projects Fund.
The Sustainability Projects Fund mandate is to build a culture of sustainability on 涩里番 campuses through the development and seed-funding of interdisciplinary projects. It creates opportunities for the 涩里番 community to actively engage in sustainability initiatives on campus, empowering individuals to be change agents in their own studying and work environment.
Valued at $1 million annually, the SPF is the largest fund of its kind in Canada. Since 2010, more than $10 million has been allocated toward over 260 projects.
