Requirements to Qualify

In-Course Scholarships:

  • To be eligible to apply for In-Course Scholarships, students must be returning and continuing in the BCom program for the following Fall and Winter terms. Students who transfer to other Faculties after June 1 will not be eligible for Management prizes.
  • Applicants must have completed a minimum of 27 graded credits to be eligible.
  • Applicants must complete 15 ɬÀï·¬ credits while on exchange to be eligible.
  • Note that In-Course Scholarships are granted based on the sessional GPA for the previous Fall and Winter terms, or the one term GPA from Fall or Winter for those students at ɬÀï·¬ for only the previous Fall or Winter term.

Convocation Awards:

  • Fall graduates are not eligible to apply for In-Course Scholarships but would apply for Convocation awards the following May instead.
  • Students should have 12 graded credits in their final year and can be part-time in their final term.
  • Convocation awards are awarded based on cumulative GPA. However, academic awards also may have other terms for recipient selection set out by the donor of the award that can include program of study or other specific criteria.

Application Information:

  • Applications are required for scholarships given for academic excellence with leadership, extracurricular and community involvement.
  • Other awards do not require an application if they are granted solely on academic excellence. Students will be informed in the summer if they were selected.
  • Note that each of these academic awards has specific terms set by the donor and are not awarded solely on sessional or term GPA. These terms could mean that students are selected for academic excellence but limited by the student year, by student program or by other terms specified by the donor. They are not awarded by sessional or term GPA alone.

Other Notes:

  • Please note In-Course Scholarships, when awarded, are deposited into your fee account for the following year. You must remain a full-time student to keep the award. Expected graduates are not eligible to apply.
  • Dean's Honour List for returning students is automatically calculated by the BCom office and will appear on your transcript if you ranked in the top 10% of your class. You must have completed 27 graded credits.
