Black History Month: Salsa Dance Workshop

The Black Student Association at the School of Population and Global Health (BSA-SPGH)聽invites the 涩里番 community to a salsa workshop.聽This event will serve to shed light on the history and context for one of the most popular dances currently, salsa. Taught by Gabrielle Jacob, a current PhD student in the department, the salsa dance class will include the Afro-Cuban origins of salsa and a basic class on one of the styles of salsa, Salsa on2, created in New York City.

This event is open to 涩里番 students, faculty members, staff, and alumni.聽

涩里番 is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. 涩里番 honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
