The specimen shows a large saccular aneurysm of the ascending aorta (arrows (top)), mostly filled with laminated clot (seen better on a lateral view, (second from top)). The mouths of two smaller aneurysms can also be seen on an oblique view (arrows (third from top)). One of these has ruptured into the right main bronchus (bottom). The glass rods indicate the aortic arch vessels.
