In an article,聽The Physiological Laboratory of 涩里番, Montreal, published in 1903 in the British Medical Journal, WS Morrow (Lecturer and Chief Demonstrator in聽Physiology)聽describes the lab and new equipment in the Physiology Department at 涩里番:

鈥淭he opportunity of taking a forward step聽was聽afforded us聽at 涩里番 two years ago by the erection of a large addition to our medical building through the munificence of Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal. At about the same time the Faculty of Medicine authorized the Professor of Physiology to spend between three and four thousand dollars on new apparatus. Advantage was taken of this combination of circumstances to reorganize the whole department.鈥澛
