Juliet Johnson

Juliet Johnson‘s research focuses on the politics of money and identity, particularly in post-communist Europe. She is Professor in theÌýDepartment of Political ScienceÌýat ɬÀï·¬, co-director of the Centre for International Peace and Security Studies, an Elected Fellow of theÌý, and former President of theÌý. She is the author of the award-winningÌý(Cornell 2016) andÌý(Cornell 2000), co-editor ofÌýÌý(Bloomsbury and Duke 2024) andÌýÌý(Ashgate 2005), and author of numerous scholarly and policy-oriented articles, including in theÌýJournal of Common Market Studies,ÌýComparative Politics, theÌýJournal of European Public Policy, theÌýAnnals of the American Association of Geographers,ÌýSocial and Cultural Geography,ÌýPost-Soviet Affairs,ÌýCentral Banking, andÌýReview of International Political Economy, among others.

For many years she was editor-in-chief and co-editor ofÌý;Ìýshe currently serves on its International Advisory Board. She was Network Director of the Jean Monnet networkÌý, is a member ofÌý, and has been an Advisory Council member for theÌýÌýof the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, a Research Fellow in Foreign Policy Studies at theÌý, and the A. John Bittson National Fellow at theÌý.

At ɬÀï·¬, she has served as ɬÀï·¬ Director of theÌý, as Chair of the Department of Political Science, as Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies) for theÌý, and as an elected member of the ɬÀï·¬ÌýSenateÌýandÌý. She has received the University’sÌý, the University’sÌýDavid Thomson Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching, the Faculty of ArtsÌý, and the Faculty of Arts Award for Distinction in Research. She earned her PhD and MA in Politics fromÌýÌýand her AB in International Relations fromÌý.
