Title: Control of the heat equation: old and new results.
Abstract:听In this talk, I will give an overview of some results on the control of the heat equation. In particular, I will focus on the notion of null-controllability which has seen surprising new developments during the last 10 years. After a brief general introduction to control theory, I will show how this notion is related to spectral geometry and spaces of analytic functions. This is based on joint works with A.W. Green, K. Le Balc'h and J. Martin.
