Dr. Andr茅 Bussi猫res named CCA 2018 Researcher of the Year
Dr. Bussi猫res was recently awarded the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) 2018 Researcher of the Year Award at the CCA Conference in April.
The award 鈥渉onours an investigator whose contribution has improved the clinical treatment of chiropractic patients and has demonstrated outstanding research achievements and advancement of new knowledge in their field of expertise.鈥�

Dr. Marc Roig awarded CHIR grant
Dr. Marc Roig has been awarded a CIHR grant in the Movement and Exercise category for his project, "Exercise intensisty matters: a window of opportunity to promote neurorecovery and cardiovascular health in stroke," Dr. Joyce Fung is a co-investigator, from SPOT.
Media pick up on The Conversation
Dr. Stefanie Blain-Moraes recently contributed an article to the online not-for-profit media platform, The Conversation. Her article, "How we can design the music of our emotions," was then explored in a live radio interview on CJAD 800.
Dr. Wideman awarded CIHR
Dr. Timothy Wideman has been awarded a Planning and Dissemination Grant from CIHR for his project, "Developing stakeholder endorsement methodology to measure the outcomes of pain education in Canadian physiotherapy programs." Dr. Aliki Thomas and Dr. Andr茅 Bussi猫res are co-investigators on the ward.

The ISOQOL Dictionary, edited by Dr. Nancy Mayo, has been translated from English into Portuguese and is available for purchase in both languages through the ISOQOL website.

CIHR Canada 150 Initiatives at SPOT
CIHR recently put out a list 150 featured Canadian Researchers to celebrate Canada 150, and our own Dr. Annette Majnemer was featured for her work with CHILD-BRIGHT, and Dr. Nancy Mayo was featured for her Heel2Toe project.
PT Students Win for Research Projects
At the 2017 edition of the Faculty of Medicine Student Research Day, 涩里番 SPOT Physiotherapy Students were well represented, winning three Sir Edward W. Beatty Memorial Final Report Awards. Ali Alias was awarded the Best Winter 2017 Research Report, Rachel Medvedev was awarded 2nd Place (Schools Category), Top Summer 2017 Research Report, and Yoon Seo Lee, was awarded 3rd Place (Schools Category), Top Summer 2017 Research Project.
SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant
Dr. Stefanie Blain-Moraes has been awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Engage Grant for her project titled 鈥淯sing participatory design to leverage biomusic technology to integrate neurodiverse populations into the workplace.鈥�
CIHR New Investigator Grant
Dr. Marie Brossard-Racine and her team have been awarded a CIHR New Investigator Grant in Maternal Reproductive, Child and Youth Health for their project titled 鈥淥ne year of brain maturation following a preterm birth.鈥�
Dr. Bernadette Nedelec elected to AOTF
Dr. Bernadette Nedelec has been elected to the prestigious American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF) Academy of Research.
Recognized for her exemplary and distinguished contributions toward the science of OT, she now joins an elite group of scientists and scholars.
