Admission Requirements 

  • Applicant must already be enrolled or have the support of one of the co-PIs at one of the 6 participating universities: É¬Àï·¬, Université de Montréal, University of Toronto, Polytechnique Montréal, Toronto Metropolitan University and INRS.
  • Applicant’s research, or proposed research, aligns with the program, being focused on the analysis of the exposure and effects of complex mixtures of contaminants including their measurement, their risk, their remediation or their substitution, in water, land, air, and/or food.
  • Applicant demonstrates awareness of, and motivation to better understand the complex environmental issues of the program, to work in an interdisciplinary environment, and to commit to the required program elements (in-person).  

For Master’s or PhD students, this includes: 

  • A mandatory hands-on practical training
  • Two mandatory workshops on the development of professional skills
  • A mandatory workshop or training on equity and diversity (EDI)
  • Attending a 2-day research retreat
  • Participating in the annual research symposium
  • Participating in an internship or exchange to gain workplace or practical experience

Undergraduate students and postdocs are also strongly encouraged to participate in other opportunities: professional skills activities (seminars, workshops, career panels etc.), hands-on practical training, and the 2-day MIXCHEM research retreat.
